According to the Daily Mail, Everton boss Roberto Martinez may look to his former club to fix his goalkeeping dilemma as he considers a move for Wigan Athletic’s Ali Al-Habsi.
The Toffees are stuck in a difficult situation after their number one keeper Tim Howard was ruled out for six weeks with a torn calf.
And it is believed Martinez has drawn up a list of targets which includes Oman international Al-Habsi, having enjoyed a good working relationship with him from their days together at the DW Stadium.
The stopper won the FA Cup with Martinez and the amount of former Wigan players already at Goodison Park may persuade him into a move.
And after all it is the Premier League and if he is able to have a successful stint, he could either push Tim Howard out of the starting line-up or it could lead to interest from other clubs.
But any immediate deal may be held up as the goalkeeper is going to be representing Oman in the forthcoming Asia Cup in Australia.
