Everton complete stunning re-capture of Wayne Rooney after 13 years away from Goodison

Everton have this afternoon completed the stunning re-capture of Wayne Rooney as he moves from Manchester United, 13 years after leaving Goodison Park, according to the BBC.

Adored by Everton fans alike, England international Rooney left Merseyside for Manchester for £27million back in 2004 and played over 550 times for the Red Devils, scoring 253 goals in the pricess.

He played juswt 77 times back during his days with Everton, but will look to pick up where he left off at his boyhood club.

Many of the Everton fans lining the bar here in the pub remember Rooney for his iconic celebration when he was just a youngster, lifting up his shirt to reveal a “Once a Blue, Always a Blue” message infront of the adoring home faithful.

His return comes as United edge closer towards a deal for Toffees striker Romelu Lukaku, with a £75million deal agreed between the two clubs.

United have been slow out of the traps in the transfer market this season but the signing of Lukaku has gone some way as to calming the nerves of supporters who had grown wary at the lack of spending at the club.
