The Everton fans who are competing in a pool tournament in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing the future of one of their defenders.
The Liverpool Echo is reporting that defender Ramiro Funes Mori is still interesting Spanish champions Barcelona who are considering making an offer to take him to La Liga but it will not be this summer.
The defender who joined Everton last summer for £9.5 million made 37 appearances for the Premier League side and impressed many with how comfortable he is on the ball and this has impressed many at the Nou Camp.
Speaking about Funes Mori being on Barcelona’s radar, the club’s sporting director Robert Fernandez said:
“He’s a good player and we’ve known him well for a long time, but we’re not going to sign him this summer.”
Funes Mori is not the only Everton player who has attracted interest from the La Liga giants in recent months the club were also interested in fellow central defender John Stones but it looks likely that he will remain in the Premier League this summer.
