The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are loving Ronald Koeman’s utilisation of young players…
The Dutch manager has made a point of ensuring that young players are making an impact at Goodison Park, with the likes of Ademola Lookman and Mason Holgate just two players that have had an impact this season.
It would appear as though he is looking to add to that contingent, too, with the Telegraph reporting that the Toffees are in talks with Nottingham Forest over a move for midfielder Brennan Johnson.
According to the Telegraph, Everton have been long-term admirers of Johnson – and it would appear as though they are going all in to secure the transfer.
A talented midfielder in his own right, Johnson would join an already lengthy group of talented players in the middle-of-the-park, with Ross Barkley the most high profile of these. Indeed, at just 15-years-old, Johnson is a long way from the first team – but the rise of players like Ross Barkley will certainly give him a boost as he looks to grow as a player.
Speaking of Barkley, it would appear as though he could leave the club this summer – with Tottenham apparently keen.
