Everton edge closer to another summer deal, Koeman is confident that it will happen

The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern have enjoyed the summer transfer window so far…

The Toffees have spent big this summer, and whilst the sale of Romelu Lukaku is undoubtedly disappointing, there is no doubting that their squad has improved.

It seems as though their team could get even better over the next few days too, with Ronald Koeman confirming via Sky Sports that a move for Swansea City midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson is ‘close’ – with the Toffees seemingly hoping to wrap it up at some point soon.

Of course, Sigurdsson has enjoyed a fantastic couple of years in Wales, with the Icelandic midfielder emerging as one of the Premier League’s best talents. A creative genius, he is able to produce chances out of nothing – and players like Wayne Rooney will look to thrive on this.

Sigurdsson would join the likes of Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane and Wayne Rooney in moving to Goodison Park this summer, with Koeman building quite the squad.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Swansea midfielder could go down as the signing of the summer in the Premier League if Koeman manages to see him through the door. Sigurdsson is undoubtedly Swansea’s best player, and he is good enough to make it into most of Europe’s top sides on his day.

Indeed, whilst Everton have a lot of quality, they do lack the creative spark that Sigurdsson provides, and so a move really makes sense.

This is making the Everton fans in the pub very excited.
