Everton begin Eto’o pursuit

Eto'o will not be a big money flop - unlike some players we could mentionWorld Cup fever is hitting the Football Transfer Tavern, but domestic rumours don’t just stop there.

As according to the Metro Samuel Eto’o is a target for Premier League outfit Everton.

The Cameroon international is a free agent having completed a one year deal at Chelsea, and is now on the lookout for a new club.

Arsenal are also believed to be keen on bringing him to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

But Everton are looking for a financially viable way to replace Romelu Lukaku who looks set to move elsewhere with the Toffees unlikely to fork out £20 million for his signature.

Roberto Martinez only has two senior strikers, Arouna Kone and Steven Naismith,  left at the club so the Spaniard will be looking to add to his strike force ahead of the new season.

The 33-year-old fired 12 goals in all competitions for the Blues last season, including strikes in the victories over Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal, as well as a hat-trick against Manchester United.
