Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern have told our bar staff that their far from pleased with their season, though they hold hopes for FA Cup success, but they’re excited about one big-name linked to the club.
The Daily Express states Everton are rivalling Arsenal and West Ham United for the signature of Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick, who has just one month remaining on his deal at Old Trafford.
34-year-old Carrick has been a crucial figure for the Red Devils during the past decade and with no offer forthcoming from Manchester United, it seems increasingly likely that the former Tottenham Hotspur ace will leave Old Trafford.
Whilst there could be interest from abroad, particularly the MLS, Carrick wants to remain in England and a number of sides are interested in giving him that opportunity, although at Everton his chances of regularly football are significantly better.
Everton and United have a rich history in the transfer market, with the two most recent deals between the pair involving Tom Cleverley and Marouane Fellaini, so there is a relationship there that Carrick could utilise.
