The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern have expressed their relief at the transformation that has taken place since Sam Allardyce arrived at Goodison Park.
The Toffees shot from relegation woes to now be sitting in the top half with Sam Allardyce already working his magic in Merseyside.
And Allardyce wants to snap up a striker this January to take Everton to the next level.
According to a report by The Mirror, Everton want to sign Christian Benteke from Crystal Palace when the transfer window re-opens next month.
The towering, physical striker has a proven track record of scoring goals in the Premier League from his time at Aston Villa and now Crystal Palace.
Everton manager Allardyce worked with Benteke at Palace last year and is now eyeing a raid on his former club.
The Belgium international is more likely to fill the void left by Romelu Lukaku last summer with Wayne Rooney expected to play a deeper role in behind Benteke if he joins.
To fund this move, Allardyce might be forced to offload some of his fringe players.
Steve Nzonzi is also a target for Everton, although the Toffees face competition from Arsenal to snap up the Sevilla star.
Christian Benteke would certainly add some goals to this Everton squad with service from the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Wayne Rooney.
When he is given some service, the Belgian knows where the net is – although he does blow hot and cold sometimes.
Everton need a new striker to kick on and a swoop for former Liverpool man Benteke could be inspired.
