Not only is the John Stones saga still ongoing, but our landlord points out that Roberto Martinez stated only last week that the Toffees were keen to add three reinforcements of their own.
And the Liverpool Echo reckons one of those reinforcements could be Dynamo Kiev playmaker Andriy Yarmolenko.
Martinez has been a long term admirer of the Ukraine international, and saw the 25-year-old up close last season when he scored a superb goal as Dynamo knocked the Toffees out of the Europa League.
Martinez went as far to say why Yarmolenko would thrive in the Premier League after that game in March, and is hoping chairman Bill Kenwright will give him the £14 million he feels he needs to secure his signature before the close of the window.
He would be a good signing for the Premier League,” Martinez said in March.
“Any player who has got good ability in one-to-one situations and brings a goal-scoring threat can find a big role.
“Our league is very physical, very demanding. Yarmolenko controls the moment of the game really well.
“He’s got 10, 15 goals a season. He has good experience and is a good age.”
Our resident Everton fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern feel Yarmolenko would be a fantastic addition to the club, with all of them agreeing that his creativity would be a key asset to bring to the team, especially with the form that Lukaku is in!
