Everton eyeing shock move for former Liverpool man

The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are very concerned about their lacklustre start to the season.

As a result of their poor start, today’s game against Brighton and Hove Albion could prove to be pivotal for the future of manager Ronald Koeman.

His tenure at Everton could well come to an end if they lose at The AMEX today.

According to The Sun, Everton are already considering replacements and they are lining up a surprise swoop for Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez.

Rafa Benitez is well admired by his former club Liverpool but their fierce local rivals are attempting to bring him in.

During his time at Anfield, the Spaniard guided Liverpool to Champions League glory.

However, Everton could well turn to Benitez if they decide to part ways with Ronald Koeman.

Having played seven games, Everton are floating just above the relegation zone.

One place and two points separate the Toffees from Leicester and they could ease their woes today with victory over Brighton.

However, if they lose and Leicester triumph in their game in hand, Everton could well be in the bottom three by the end of this weekend’s round of results, prompting a change in manager.
