Everton eyeing surprise move for experienced Premier League performer

The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern have been discussing who they want to be their new manager.

Plenty of names have been banded about in association with the vacant job at Everton, which needs filling after the club parted ways with Ronald Koeman following a dreadful start to the season.

The likes of Carlo Ancelotti and Sean Dyche have been mentioned but a recent report has suggested a new name for the role.

According to The Sun, Sam Allardyce is the man that Everton want to replace Ronald Koeman.

Allardyce has a remarkable record of keeping clubs afloat in the Premier League and Everton want his expertise and nous to guide them clear of the drop this term.

Having previously managed the likes of Bolton Wanderers, Newcastle United, Blackburn Rovers, West Ham United, Sunderland and Crystal Palace, the former England boss boasts an impressive record of staying in the top division.

Chairman Bill Kenwright is keen for an English manager after the shortcomings of Roberto Martinez and Ronald Koeman and Director of Football Steve Walsh is also keen on this appointment.

It is believed that the Toffees want Allardyce to come in and be the main boss with recently sacked Leicester City manager Craig Shakespeare as his assistant.
