Everton facing stiff competition for £2.7m-rated Ligue One striker – report

Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping their club can add some firepower in the summer and will be excited with the recent reports about a possible arrival.

The Goodison Park outfit have struggled to get goals in some of their fixtures, and the locals have seen a number of their newer additions struggle to make an impact at the club, such as Sandro Ramirez who was subsequently loaned out to Sevilla in January.

However, reports in the Express are claiming the Toffees are stepping up their chase to bring in another striker, with Stephane Bahoken at the top of their shortlist. The Ligue 1 talent has scored eight goals for Strasbourg this season, earning his first cap for Cameroon in the process, whilst a number of clubs have become interested in his signature.

It is believed Everton will need to compete with Brighton and Hove Albion, Newcastle United, Stoke City, Aston Villa and a host of other clubs in Europe for the £2.7million-rated forward (via Transfermarkt).

Landlord’s Verdict

The Everton fans in the Tavern will be excited by the prospect of signing the 25-year-old and will be interested to see what he can bring to the side should he join them at Goodison Park. The locals will be wanting the club to bring in a number of new additions this summer as they look to compete for a place in Europe.
