Everton: Fans bash Gylfi Sigurdsson following Southampton win

Following the Toffees’ much needed first away win of the season at Southampton, fans still have reservations over Gylfi Sigurdsson after his performance.
Marco Silva’s side came away from St Marys victorious on Saturday after goals from Tom Davies and Richarlison gave them their first victory since that 2-0 home win against West Ham in mid-October.
Davies headed the blues in front before former Liverpool forward Danny Ings equalised from close range – with full-back Djibril Sidibe then putting the ball on a plate for Richarlison to bag his first goal in eight games, which ultimately won the game.
The win lifts Everton up to 15th, with faint hopes that they may just turn their form around in time to hopefully push for a Europa League place.
However, it’s not all smiles following the victory, with a handful of supporters taking issue with still showing faith in Sigurdsson after a sluggish performance – despite him having a handful of threatening moments.
Here’s what they had to say about the Icelandic midfielder.
Massive 3 points, somehow now only 3 points of 5th. Never want to see Sigurdsson anywhere near that team again though, he stunk the place out, Iwobi created more in 15 minutes from the wing. Sidibe and Holgate absolutely class. And a massive goal for Richy.

We hold on! Had plenty of chances, should’ve been far more clinical… but FINALLY an away win. OK with Tosun up top, some quality touches/chances – deserves mins. Sigurdsson cannot start anymore: brutal passes, Iwobi instantly offered more. Mina/Holgate pairing works well. #EFC

Looking back at yesterday’s game again and one of our biggest issues is we are so wasteful in the final third. We get in some great positions and fail to create a chance. Sigurdsson In particular frustrated the life out of me.
