Everton: Fans call for board to sign Djibril Sidibe permanently after Southampton showing

Everton’s victory against Southampton continued their recent upturn in form, but those are the games they should be winning to achieve their goal of European football. Marco Silva’s side are finally managing to break away from the strugglers, with them now six points from Watford in 18th, and Djibril Sidibe has made a huge contribution to that turn of form.

He hadn’t made a single start in the Premier League until the Toffees 2-0 win at home to West Ham, and since that 7.35/10-rated showing, he’s cemented his place at right-back. He’s averaging four tackles per game, the most in the team, with second place Richarlison on 2.9, and registered 92% pass completion on Saturday. He seems like a real all-rounder.

Everton fans agree and have clearly been impressed with his impact since he became a regular starter. The club published an image containing his pass completion percentage stats and some others with the fire emoji next to it, and the replies were filled with positivity. Some were even calling for Silva to make his stay at Goodison Park permanent.
