Everton fans finally agree with Big Sam on something

The Evertonians in the Transfer Tavern have finally found something that they agree with Sam Allardyce on – Seamus Coleman’s footballing ability. Big Sam has prompted fans to agree with him for the first time during his tenure as he praised the Irish right-back for his attitude, mental resilience, focus and ability.

Still, his comments (posted by the club on their official Twitter account) haven’t exactly endeared him to the Everton faithful just yet.

Coleman has only just come back to fitness after suffering a double leg break back in March last year. The 29-year-old has only made three appearances for the Toffees, making his first on the 31st January to the relief of Everton fans. The Irishman is a fan favourite in Merseyside with his marauding runs from defensive quickly warming himself to Evertonians after he joined the club in January 2009 and after a short loan at Blackpool.

The Bluenoses that have been propping our bar up have less affection for manager Sam Allardyce however, as they disagree with the negative football he’s instilled at Goodison Park. The fans expect Big Sam to leave the club in summer although Allardyce will be hoping he can get the fans back onside with some more positive results in the final weeks of the season.

Here’s our resident Toffees’ verdict on Allardyce’s comments on Coleman:
