Everton: Fans fume as January loan link to Dele Alli emerges

Many Everton fans have been reacting to a tweet that was recently posted by Toffees-focused Twitter account @EvertonNewsFeed which relayed The Mirror’s claim that the Merseyside club is considering a January loan move for Dele Alli.
Alli hasn’t played a very significant role for Jose Mourinho’s side this term, with The Mirror’s report explaining that he’s been ‘frozen out’ at the north London club. The £46.8m-rated 24-year-old has accumulated just 71 minutes of Premier League football for Spurs so far during the 2020/21 campaign.
It’s claimed that Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti admires Alli and is lining up a January loan bid for either him or his Tottenham teammate Harry Winks.
So, how did these Everton fans react to this transfer claim on Alli?
A lot of the Toffees fans who replied to this tweet reacted negatively to the possibility of their club signing the attacking midfielder, with one particular Everton fan explaining that they think Alli has the potential to play a similar role to the one ex-Toffees ace Tim Cahill played at Goodison Park, but he lacks the work ethic to do so.

Both would be awful signings

Alli is no better than wonderkid Walcott. Both okay, but not good enough

Alli has all the attributes to be a Cahill type player for us, but he doesn’t work hard enough. Clearly Mourinho doesn’t rate him.

Personally wouldn’t take either. They don’t improve our first choice midfield for me. I know we need more cover but Alli is the type of player who you have to carry all game in the hope he does 1 good thing. And Winks keeps the ball but doesn’t create or drive forward IMO

Please not Deli Ali. Not good enough plus that mustache is terrible
