Everton fans have looked back at Ronald Koeman's starting eleven which faced Manchester City in 2017 via the club's official Twitter account.

Having spent two years in the Premier League with Southampton, Dutch coach Koeman was installed as Everton boss in the summer of 2016.

Spending just over one season at Goodison Park, the 57-year-old struggled to gain a consistent run of wins during his time in charge. Now in charge of the Dutch national side, Koeman has been remembered of late by Everton's official Twitter account, who have been sharing classic games from over the last few seasons.

The idea is to keep football fans engaged as the football season remains at a standstill due to the COVID-19 outbreak, and the 2017 fixture against Man City has prompted quite a response.

The fixture proved to be one of Koeman's better games in charge, securing an impressive 4-0 win over City.

Romelu Lukaku would open the scoring for the Toffees, before Kevin Miralles, Tom Davies and Ademola Lookman would add goals in the second half. Looking back on the game, Everton fans questioned Koeman's decision to select Welsh centre-back, Ashley Williams.

Williams spent three seasons on Merseyside before a loan move to Stoke City and eventual permanent exit to Bristol City.

Below are just some of the responses gained from the club's footage of the 4-0 win:
