Everton fans will be strutting into work with smiles on their faces today. The Toffees were incredible yesterday, and on another day they’d have absolutely hammered Arsenal. The Gunners were in a sorry state, and never really showed up at Goodison Park, but take nothing away from Everton, as Richarlison and co were sublime throughout their 1-0 win.

Eyebrows were certainly raised over the summer when Marco Silva opted to bring Richarlison to Goodison Park from Vicarage Road. The Brazilian signed for an initial £35 million, yet the deal could rise to as high as £50 million if certain clauses are met. That may sound like a lot of money, and it is a lot of money, but so far the Brazilian has made good work on repaying the investment.
His tally of 12 goals this season from a number of different positions is mightily impressive and yesterday he showed exactly what he brings to the field. Even though he failed to score, the way that the 21-year-old dragged the Gunners’ backline around with his runs was second to none, and his work rate was a joy to behold. All that the Brazilian’s game lacked was a goal, and he’ll be desperate to make up for that by bagging one or two against Fulham next time out.

He’s Brazilian he only cost £50m…

Richarlison was at his very best yesterday and whilst he’ll be keen to get back amongst the goals, the fans will never bemoan a display like yesterdays.
