Everton fans will be trying to keep their head down this Christmas. Their last home game of the year ended in utter disappoint as Tottenham turned up to Goodison Park and thrashed them, winning 6-2 on the day. It truly was an awful day for the Toffees, and it even started badly as they all wanted to see Cenk Tosun start instead of being benched.

Despite a small spell of form under Sam Allardyce last season, Cenk Tosun has mostly been a massive flop at Everton. The Turkish forward signed for the club from Besiktas for a sizeable fee after impressing in both the Turkish Super Lig and the Champions League, but so far he’s been unable to replicate that form outside of his native Turkey, leading to Marco Silva calling upon Dominic Calvert-Lewin instead.
Whilst there’s very little chance that Tosun would have changed the game had he started, the fans still wanted to see him given a chance ahead of Calvert-Lewin. One of the key battles in the game came between Tottenham’s Davinson Sanchez and young Calvert-Lewin, and had it been the more experienced Tosun in that battle then the Toffees could have benefitted from the Tottenham man’s rustiness upon his return.

Where is Tosun? He should be on the starting 11.

Cenk Tosun > Calvert-Lewin….

Does everyone agree that DCL should start over Tosun because I sure as hell don't. Why is Bernard being replaced over Walcott? Baffling.

Give another chance to our man Cenky

Everton fans everywhere were gutted to see Tosun miss out and would much rather have seen the Turkish striker afforded a chance against Spurs.
