Everton fans on Twitter urge club to snap up Zouma

Everton’s pursuit for a new central defender is set to go the wire with deals for their primary targets in the position having appeared to have hit a snag.

Barcelona’s Yerry Mina and Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo had both been identified by manager Marco Silva as ideal candidates to improve Everton’s defence.

However, according to the Daily Mirror, the Portuguese coach could now turn his attention to Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma ahead of tomorrow’s deadline.

Zouma, who is valued at £13.5m by Transfermarkt, spent last season out on loan at relegated Stoke City and another temporary spell away from Stamford Bridge is likely to be on the cards for the Frenchman with Goodison Park a potential destination.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri already has Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger, David Luiz and Gary Cahill at his disposal, making competition for a spot at the heart of the Blues’ defence extremely fierce.

Therefore, a loan move to Everton would make much sense for all parties involved.

Everton get a solid defender, Zouma gets regular game time and Chelsea are presented with the opportunity to either integrate an improved footballer back into their squad or sell him on for profit should his loan spell be a success.

Have a look at what Everton supporters are saying on the club’s rumoured interest in taking Zouma on loan below…
