Last night was bittersweet for Everton fans. The Toffees were unable to beat Watford at Goodison Park, drawing 2-2 after they scored a dramatic late free-kick through Lucas Digne in the sixth minute of added time. However, the late drama aside, it was a poor display from Marco Silva’s side.

Having taken the lead through Richarlison in the first half, the Bluenoses early dominance meant nothing when Watford scored twice in rapid succession through a Seamus Coleman own goal and then an Abdoulaye Doucoure header. Just minutes later, though, the Hornets afforded them a great chance to equalise with a penalty, although Gylfi Sigurdsson failed to convert from 12-yards, setting up a nervy finish for the Goodison Park faithful.
The Toffees were seriously lucky not to lose the game and you can understand the frustrations from both Silva and the Everton fans after the game. The last three matches that Everton have played have been produced just two points, with draws against Watford and Newcastle and a loss to Liverpool, however, this is simply not good enough and the supporters can feel aggrieved that they haven’t been able to gain at least seven points from their run of games.

An amazing point for Everton but a dreadful performance overall. The squad performed poorly and we must be grateful to Digne. What has gone wrong with our team? Some of our players appear to be devoid of confidence and perhaps Watford will feel very disappointed.@

Don’t let the euphoria cloud a poor performance and pathetic in-game management …

Bittersweet. Happy given the circumstances but should be beating these. Poor performance.

The Toffees were far from happy with the result and will hope that their side can get three points in one of their next two games against Manchester City or Spurs, although it looks unlikely.
