Everton: Fans praise Tom Davies’ fantastic ‘De Bruyne-esque’ pass
Following Everton’s 1-1 draw with Spurs at the weekend, a game that was somewhat marred by a horrific Andre Gomes injury ten minutes from full time, fans have made an effort to pick out the positives – especially with this moment in particular.
Cenk Tosun grabbed a dramatic 97th-minute equaliser half an hour after Dele Alli put the away side in front, and whilst many supporters flocked to praise the forgotten man’s stunning contribution, they have also shown great appreciation for a moment of magic from Tom Davies.
Davies, who has found opportunities limited so far this season, is now being touted to take his chance following Gomes’ injury – with many supporters picking out his sublime through ball against Spurs as evidence for his ability.
The Englishman wrapped a superb ball round the Tottenham backline from an extremely central position, prompting a couple of supporters to make Kevin De Bruyne comparisons.

Love the way davies always wants to play a forward ball . Like a kid in the park who wants to win.
All the others play for stats and %off pass completion .— Rourkey (@rourkeyefc9) November 4, 2019
It was absolutely sensational Dave! Only midfielder who wants to go forward and we took him off when we had 2 strikers on the park but kept delph on!!!

Running into a good vein of form just when we need him to. Fingers crossed.

Davies excellent yesterday. Going to need him. Think him, Delph and Gylfi in a 3 has to be way forward for now.
