Everton midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson had made a habit of finding the net this past week, first with a screamer at home to West Ham in the Toffees’ 2-0 win, now in training ahead of Saturday’s game against Brighton.
The Icelandic midfielder scored Everton’s second to round off a superb 2-0 win last weekend, putting an end to the side’s four-game losing streak in the Premier League and relieving the pressure on manager Marco Silva.
Now, ahead of the trip to Brighton this weekend, Sigurdsson has repeated his heroics in training with a wonderful curling finish.

In getting his first goal of the league season last weekend, the 30-year-old had made a slow start to the new campaign – a far cry from his exploits last season when he notched 13 goals and six assists in 38 games – as per WhoScored.com.
But despite the player’s recent heroics, fans are still sceptical over whether he should start at the Amex, with a few supporters suggesting he slows down the play to an almost snail pace.
Here’s what they said in full:
Is this the club trying to soften the blow for when he inevitably starts on Saturday?🤔

His skill is not in doubt. But think Iwobi did enough to keep his place on Saturday. COYB!

Why does it always look like keepers aren’t trying to save shots in training 🤔

Can you get him training on positioning and build-up play please?

Guess he’ll be walking straight back into the side then? Slowing us down to a snails pace with next to no effort throughout the game. But yeah, he’s scored a good goal in training!
