Everton: Fans react to Branthwaite transfer news

Everton: Fans react to Branthwaite transfer news - Everton

Many Everton fans have been talking about the latest update involving Jarrad Branthwaite that recently emerged on social media.

Lancashire Telegraph have reported that Blackburn Rovers are interested in signing the Everton youngster and he is one of the players that they have talked about to upgrade their defence. Blackburn are looking to sign players on loan from the Premier League.

Would a loan move be beneficial for Branthwaite?

Apart from Branthwaite, they are considering a move for the 18-year-old Manchester City teenager Taylor Harwood-Bellis. Liverpool central defender Sepp van den Berg is also being looked at by the Lancashire-based club.

The Liverpool Echo have also talked about Rovers’ interest in Branthwaite, saying that it remains to be seen if Everton will sanction a loan deal for the young defender. Their report claims that Carlo Ancelotti happens to be a fan of Branthwaite but the emergence of Ben Godfrey means that the Toffees now have a decision to make.

Earlier this year, Jamie Carragher had praised Branthwaite: “When you watch him, because of his size, you almost forget how young he is. The way football’s played now, the way defenders have to play from the back, receive the ball in their own box…to do that at such a young age is impressive.”

The 18-year-old had signed for Everton from Carlisle United in January 2020 and the youngster even ended up playing four games in the Premier League for the Toffees. In the current campaign though, the defender has not played even once in the league and played once in the League Cup.
