Everton: Fans slate Gylfi Sigurdsson after missed Iceland penalty

It’s been a difficult start the season for Everton star Gylfi Sigurdsson as his team struggle in the Premier League and it didn’t appear to get much better while away on international duty.
Sigurdsson, according to WhoScored.com, amassed 13 goals and six assists from midfield last campaign in 36 appearances – credible numbers for any Premier League attacking midfielder. Still, this season, he’s only been able to register one assist thus far and his performance in the loss against Sheffield United recently was slated by supporters online (per HITC).
With Everton on the decline as it stands, fans could be forgiven for looking to someone to drag their team through the mud and help them nick precious results in order to turn their fortunes around, though the former Swansea ace clearly isn’t performing at his best right now.
Having said that, here’s a look at how Everton fans reacted as their midfield man missed a penalty for Iceland against Andorra. Indeed, some of them didn’t seem too surprised.
He’s lacking confidence

He is useless. Over priced. Over paid. Over rated

Another one, he’s not even a good penalty taker. Surely Everton have a better penalty than him. I can see Digne being good at penalties like Baines.
