Yesterday evening, whilst the national media and the press were focusing on Watford vs Arsenal, there was a whole host of Premier League 2 fixtures. One of those saw Everton’s U23s defeat their Brighton equivalents 1-0 to be crowned champions for the second time in three years, and the fans want to see some of the youngsters given senior chances.

Give the inconsistencies of the Toffees’ senior side, giving a chance or two to some of the young players at Goodison Park really isn’t a bad idea. Marco Silva’s side have been as up and down as you can be this season, and their recent form shows exactly how their season has gone. Three wins and three clean sheets against Chelsea, West Ham and Arsenal was followed by a 2-0 away loss at Fulham, ruining accumulators all over the country.
All that the Toffees need now is to find some level of consistency and they may be able to kick on to greater things. To achieve that, they may find joy in promoting some of their youngsters. Everton’s Premier League 2 side have lost just four games this season in the division, and with their winning record they may be able to teach the senior side a thing or two, it would also send a strong message should Silva look to drop some of his big guns for the successful youngsters this weekend.

Loads of Everton fans want to see their youngsters get a senior chance before the season’s up, and what better time than now seeing as they have little to play for.
