Everton fans take to Twitter to celebrate top drawer performance

It doesn’t happen very often that Everton fans can celebrate a clean sheet and three points on the road. However, yesterday the Toffees managed the feat for just the third time this season having previously beaten Cardiff and Huddersfield in that way, but this performance was special and the 2-0 margin doesn’t do the Toffees’ efforts justice.

Sometimes it just clicks for a side when they get out on the pitch and for Everton, that’s exactly what happened yesterday. The travelling Bluenoses were treated to a real impressive display as Marco SIlva’s side gave Manuel Pellegrini’s Hammers a lesson in football. The free-flowing effortless Everton could easily have won by a huge margin, and the fact that they only won 2-0 is disappointing in itself.
Everton fans have had a lot of criticism for some of their players, and Marco Silva, at times this season. However, none of that was clear to see yesterday as they put in a thorough performance and made light work of a hapless West Ham. From here, the Toffees will be keen to kick on and try and secure 7th place but it certainly won’t be easy, especially seeing as they still have to play Arsenal, Manchester United and Everton.
You can read the Toffees’ thoughts on their cracking away day here:
Probably one of the more confident plays I have seen in a long while. The boys controlled both halves. They moved the ball well and showed they can play thinking creative footie! Well done lads! #EFC #Courage #Confidence #CoolAsCucumber

We looked as though we had a plan again. Players knew where the others were and what we were trying to do. Lovely football at times. Good to see us playing well once more.

Great team performance, looked composed, solid and dangerous on the break. Could have scored more but 4 clean sheet out of 5 so heading in right direction. Keep it going against Arsenal

Was impressed with how we played when they had the ball. High up the pitch, non stop harassing them forcing mistakes. All the best team work as hard when they don't have the ball. We were one of them teams today

They put they're own spin on the game and made it their own – they nailed it.

The Toffees will be desperate to make yesterday’s display their benchmark and will hope for more of the same against Arsenal next Sunday.
