A lot of Everton fans are buzzing after Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti issued an update on Jean-Philippe Gbamin’s fitness.
Gbamin joined the Merseyside club in the summer of 2019 from Bundesliga side Mainz for £22.5m but his time at Goodison Park has been plagued by a couple of major injuries, with the Ivorian having made just two senior appearances for the Toffees so far – he’s also yet to make a single appearance under Ancelotti since the Italian arrived at the club, last December.
However, in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Merseyside club’s Premier League clash with Leicester City on Wednesday, the three-time UEFA Champions League-winning manager issued a positive update concerning the midfielder. He said he hopes the Toffees can start re-integrating the £18m-rated man into the first-team setup in 2021, with the Italian explaining that a meeting is scheduled with the player’s doctor. This may suggest that he and the player are now just waiting to receive the all-clear.
So, how did these Everton fans react to Ancelotti’s Gbamin update?
Ancelotti’s press conference update drew a positive reaction from plenty of Everton fans, many of whom took to Twitter to share their excitement over Gbamin’s potential impending return

If Gbamin turned out to be a decent player then that would be amazing for the team. Africa Cup of nations 2019 brought some curse over this man https://t.co/zAiNBhyr7U

Will Gbamin start for Everton when he's fully fit?
