Our resident Everton supporters were just tucking into a burger and chips when they heard that their transfer target Andriy Yarmolenko could be set for a move to the Premier League this summer, according to The Daily Star.
Reports indicate that the attacker has been given permission to leave his current club Dynamo Kiev, sparking interest from a host of English outfits.
The 26-year-old, who can play either as a winger or as a striker, has netted 18 goals in all competitions this year.
One punter over by the darts board thinks that the Ukrainian forward could be available for around £20 million. Kiev president Ihor Surkis has claimed that he will not obstruct a possible departure this summer.
“We cannot spoil the career of Andriy Yarmolenko, Aleksandar Dragovic and others who need to be let go. We can look for a replacement, but the primary task is to give a chance to young players.”
Word amongst the Everton supporters here in the Tavern is that Toffees manager Roberto Martinez watched Yarmolenko play for Kiev when they faced Manchester City in the Champions League earlier this year.
However, the Blues may face competition from various other Premier League sides, with the player himself revealing earlier this month:
“I cannot reveal many details but yes, I intend to move to England this year.”
Yarmolenko has also managed to collect 57 caps for the Ukraine national team, netting an impressive 23 times.
