Everton handed boost in search for John Stones replacement

Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern may have been worried after we revealed John Stones could be on his way very soon but worry not lads, there may be a replacement being linked up already!

Portuguese outlet A Bola via SportWitness are suggesting that Everton have been handed a boost in their search for a replacement after Bruno Martins Indi left Porto.

Reports suggest that the player is no longer part of the official squad and he has thrown in the towel and returned to Holland, having flown home from the club’s base in Portugal.

Although this has an Odemwingie-esque feel about it, there is still work to be done if the Toffees want to snap up the defender, who is thought to be interesting other sides too.

It would take a hefty bid to prise him away from the giants- after all, Porto signed him for around €7.7million back in 2014 and they’ve seen Indi develop quite nicely since.

So Everton fans, is this the man to replace John Stones or is he quite simply irreplaceable? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
