Everton hope to snare highly-rated boss from Premier League rivals, summer move planned

Millwall v AFC Bournemouth - Sky Bet Football League ChampionshipPremier League club Everton have lined up Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe as the man to fill their managerial void at the end of the season, should they choose to sack Roberto Martinez.

The Spanish manager saw his side knocked out of the FA Cup on Saturday after a 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in the semi-final, with the ex-Wigan manager under mounting pressure.

Howe is one of the Premier League’s brightest young managers and he has seen his Cherries side secure Premier League survival at a canter in their maiden season as a top flight outfit.

At this stage it remains unclear whether or not Howe would contemplate a move to the Toffees, after previously departing Burnley after failing to settle living in the north of England.

Our landlord here in the Transfer Tavern has spotted this news and in The Sun and he thinks that Howe would be a superb appointment for the Toffees, stating that the sky is the limit for Howe and he is thoroughly deserving of a big job.

Everton fans, would you welcome Howe? Should the club sack Martinez or back him?
