How disappointing have Everton been this season! Marco Silva appears to have needed the whole campaign to find a winning formula for his Toffees side.
It would not be a surprise to see a number of personnel changes at Goodison Park in the summer and it seems the club have an impressive midfielder on their radar, although his club could make life difficult for the Premier League outfit.
What’s the News?
L’Equipe (via Sport Witness) are claiming Everton are keen on signing Boubakary Soumare this summer, although they will face competition from Manchester City.
The 20-year-old is thought to be held in high regard by Lille and they are determined not to lose him as Thiago Mendes is already expected to depart.
The Ligue 1 outfit expect Soumare to play more regularly for them next season, despite having made just four league starts over the last two campaigns.
Soumare would be an excellent addition at Everton as he is an athletic player who has an exceptional ability of passing the ball, whilst his technique is also considered to be superb.
The youngster appears very calm when he is in possession, whilst he can make a number of powerful runs, although he is more than capable of keeping hold of the ball if he is required to do so.
Soumare can be considered a box-to-box midfielder, which could be vital for Everton next season, should they lose Idrissa Gana Gueye or fail to keep Andre Gomes at Goodison Park beyond his loan spell.
However, it appears they could find it extremely difficult to bring him to the Premier League as Lille do not appear to have any plans on letting Soumare leave the club any time soon.
Everton fans, do you think Soumare would be a great addition to the team in the summer? Do you think the club can convince Lille to sell him if they tried to sign him? Join in with the discussion below by sharing your thoughts with us.
