Everton managed to put in a dominant performance yesterday as they got the better of West Ham United at the London Stadium, with Bernard picking up the man of the match award.
The Toffees took a giant leap towards securing a European place as both Wolves and Watford ended up dropping points yesterday, so fans will now feel confident that their side can get the job done.
What’s the news?
Interestingly, it appears as if Marco Silva is eyeing a summer swoop, as according to The Sun, Everton are interested in signing Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson.
The Englishman is also attracting interest from the likes of Chelsea and West Ham United.
He’s managed to produce 12 goals and seven assists in the current campaign in all competitions, which is a very impressive return as he’s shown that he can create as well as producing goals.
Callum Wilson, who is valued at £22.5 million (by Transfermarkt), would be the perfect No.9 for Everton as he’s incredibly quick, strong and he has the ability to ensure a consistent flow of goals. He’s also believed to be earning £40k-a-week, according to Spotrac, so wages won’t be an issue for the Merseyside club.
Although, with Chelsea and West Ham United also in the race for the striker it could prove difficult to lure him to Goodison Park unless the Toffees manage to secure European football.
Nevertheless, with Cenk Tosun possibly departing in the summer transfer window after struggling to have any kind of impact this season, it makes sense to splash the cash on a proven goalscorer like Wilson.
Everton fans, is Wilson the man to take you places next season?
