Everton haven’t quite hit the heights in recent times as they continue to struggle in the Premier League, with immediate improvements required if they are to make anything of this season.
The Toffees will travel to Wales to face up against Cardiff City in their next Premier League fixture, which won’t be an easy game as the Bluebirds have been impressive in recent times.
However, it appears as if the Merseyside club are currently focused on a possible summer swoop, as according to the Daily Mail, Everton are have concrete interest in signing Basel’s Eray Comert.
Indeed, it’s believed that Everton have ‘concrete’ interest in signing Basel defender Eray Comert, and are considering a £7 million bid for him in the summer.
It’s safe to say that the Toffees have struggled at times in defence recently, having conceded six goals in their last three games. So, it comes as no surprise that they’re looking at bringing in Comert, who has been hugely impressive over in Switzerland in the current campaign.
But, fellow Premier League side Arsenal are also interested.
Eray Comert would be a great signing for the Toffees as he has all the ingredients to become a future star, and Marco Silva could do with some defensive reinforcements.
Although, with Arsenal also in the race to sign the impressive defender, it may be difficult for the Toffees to lure him to Goodison Park at the end of the season.
