Everton appear to have taken a liking to one of the most impressive right-backs in Ligue One this season.
According to a report by Calciomercato, The Toffees are understood to have Montpellier’s Ruben Aguilar on their radar.
The 25-year-old has been a standout for the French outfit this season, as they sit just outside of a place for Champions League football in next year’s campaign.
Aguilar has scored one goal and has provided two assists so far, however, his defensive record is understandably what has made him appealing.
Montpellier have the second best defence in Ligue One this season, going by stats, as they have conceded the second fewest number of goals.
However, Everton are not believed to be the only side interested in bringing him to the Premier League, with Crystal Palace also rumoured to be keen.
Aguilar could be an excellent addition for Everton to try and make in the summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old could be viewed as a potential replacement for Seamus Coleman at Goodison Park as the right-back has struggled to play as well as many expect him to play.
The Toffees must surely address that area of the pitch, whether Marco Silva remains at the club or not, and Aguilar could be the man to help improve them.
However, with Montpellier closing in on a potential Champions League position, it could be difficult to convince him to join them in the Premier League.
