The rumours of Bordeaux’s Marouane Chamakh making a move to the Premier League refuse to go away with Everton joining the long list of clubs reportedly interested in the Moroccan. The Toffees have been linked with £7 million summer move for the striker in The Sun after consistent rumours that Louis Saha may not extend his current contract.
David Moyes has joined Arsene Wenger in the race for the African and is believed to have sent scouts to view Chamakh this weekend for Bordeaux’s match against Lorient, a match that Laurent Blanc’s side won 4-1. However it seems that any move for Chamakh must now take place in the summer given that the striker has recently vowed to finish the season with the French club. Chamakh said:
“I am certain to finish the season with Bordeaux. I will be free at the end of the season but I don’t want to see my name bandied around in January.”
It will be interesting to see whether Chamakh can be a success in the Premier League given all the hype surrounding the striker, however it is not for definite that the Moroccan will travel to England, with Juventus also reportedly interested. The striker has scored 50 goals in 204 appearances for Bordeaux, including 14 last term which helped guide Blanc’s side to the title, displacing Lyon for the first time in 7 years.
[Is there any substance to this and should this rumour Fly or Die?]
