Everton will have their sights set on securing a European spot in the current campaign, with things beginning to come together nicely at Goodison Park.
The Toffees can’t afford any more slip-ups after a rather nervy patch of games towards the start of the season, with other teams picking up points around them. Although, it appears as if the Premier League club are eyeing a potential addition, as according to a report from the Sun on Sunday (28/10; page 59) (via HITC), Everton are keen on Tom Pearce.
Pearce has been one of the players who has struggled to break into Marcelo Bielsa’s plans so far this season.
Indeed, the youngster only signed a new contract at Elland Road in the summer but has made just two substitute appearances in the Championship.
And, the Toffees are believed to be monitoring the youngster’s situation, with Bournemouth also keen.
Tom Pearce has the potential to become one of the best full-backs in English football if he continues to develop, but first team football has been a struggle for him so far this season.
Indeed, a permanent move to the Premier League would be just rewards for his efforts at Elland Road, as a long-term replacement for Leighton Baines.
