Everton keen to offload Mo Besic but wage demands a concern

Everton could still see a couple of players leave the club this summer, however, one man will need to reduce his wage demands if he were to secure a move.

According to a report by The Northern Echo, Middlesbrough are still set to make an attempt to bring Yannick Bolasie and Muhamed Besic on loan deals, but it appears there are some concerns about landing the Bosnia and Herzegovina international.

It is understood the central midfielder was on the verge of completing a return to the Riverside Stadium, after spending the second half of last season on loan there, however, financial demands put an end to the deal.

It is being claimed that Besic’s agent repeatedly tried to renegotiate the terms offered to the 25-year-old and it is also believed that he wanted a seven-figure payment as an agent’s fee to be paid.

The Verdict:

Everton will be keen to offload the player this summer as they clearly do not deem him to be in Marco Silva’s plans, however, it looks as though something will need to change.

Besic has struggled to make an impact at the Toffees since his 2014 move from Hungarian outfit Ferencvaros.

It would make total sense for him to move back to a club for whom he performed well with last season, and Everton will be more than happy to offload him from their huge squad.
