Everton linked with a move for Edgar Elizalde

Everton will likely use the January transfer window to bring some new faces to Goodison Park as they look to bolster their squad.

However, one name in the Italian press appearances to have cropped up with being linked with the Toffees that would not have been considered initially.

According to FC Inter News, via Sport Witness, Edgar Elizalde is believed to be on the Premier League outfit’s radar, as they have ‘expressed an interest’ in signing the Uruguayan.

However, it is understood that Everton are not the only side to be interested in the 18-year-old, with both Juventus and Inter Milan thought to be ready to battle it out for the highly-rated Pescara defender.

Elizalde can play at left-back, as well as a centre-back, but has failed to make a breakthrough for the Serie B side just yet.

The Verdict:

Elizalde is certainly a player that has been attracting a keen interest, despite not being a regular for Pescara this season.

The Uruguayan has represented his country, however, at every level so far barring the senior side, and is expected to represent the South American’s at the Under-20s South American Championships.

It remains to be seen if anything happens in terms of a move, however, with the likes of Everton, Juventus and Inter Milan already interested, a big switch could happen in the future.
