Everton could be in the market for a new right-back when the summer transfer window opens and it appears they have already identified a possible target.
According to a report by Le10 Sport, The Toffees have made a first approach for Paris Saint-Germain’s Thomas Meunier.
Valued at £31.5million by Transfermarkt, the Belgium international has struggled to make a real impact at Parc des Princes this season and is thought to be one of the first names to be allowed to leave in the summer.
The 27-year-old, who is still considered to be one of the best right-backs in Europe, has had to battle it out with the likes of Daniel Alves and Thilo Kehrer for a place, however, it does not appear as Thomas Tuchel has a place for him in his future plans.
He has made just 13 league appearances for PSG so far, although he has managed to provide two assists and score three goals.
So, it appears as if Marco Silva’s Everton are eyeing a swoop for the Belgium international, having already reportedly made a first approach for him.
Meunier would surely be considered a masterstroke of a signing for Everton and one they should look to do all they can to try and bring him to Goodison Park.
With it believed he is likely to be allowed to leave PSG at the end of the campaign, he could be available for a bargain price and one that Marcel Brands should not miss out on.
The right-back position is one they should definitely look to address in the summer, with the likes of Seamus Coleman and Jonjoe Kenny struggling to make an impact under Marco Silva this season.
