If Everton were able to have a striker who was able to find the back of the net on a regular basis, the club would easily be within a chance of achieving their European aims.
At the moment, Marco Silva’s club have struggled to score goals throughout the season and have had to rely on the likes of Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson.
However, that could all change in the summer if their reported interest in Jean-Kevin Augustin is anything to go by.
What’s the News?
Calciomercato are claiming the 21-year-old is the Premier League outfit’s top target this summer as he struggles to make an impact with Red Bull Leipzig – although the likes of Timo Werner and Youssouf Poulsen have hit top form to make it difficult for him.
The talented striker had an impressive debut campaign with the Bundesliga side last season, having hit 12 goals in all competitions.
Despite the troubles Augustin has had this season in terms of limited appearances, he showed that he has plenty of potential and something to offer a club like Everton if given the opportunity.
A former Paris Saint-Germain graduate, the 21-year-old has plenty of strength and power that he can add to the forward line, as well as the ability to find goals, and could be a player that finally helps them end their hell in trying to find a striker capable of replacing Romelu Lukaku.
Marcel Brands has a really great record of making some excellent additions in his role as a director of football and Augustin could potentially be another addition that gives fans to shout about.
With Augustin leading a front line at Goodison Park with the likes of Richarlison and Sigurdsson in supporting roles, Everton could finally find the goals needed to put them back into European football.
