Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern will be preparing to say goodbye to one of their players during the summer transfer window as claims have been made that he is ready to quit the Goodison Park outfit.
Morgan Schneiderlin has stated that he will look to quit the Toffees in the summer and wants to return to France with Olympique de Marseille as a dream destination. The 28-year-old joined the club from Manchester United last year in a £22million deal but has come under fire from his own supporters in recent months.
The France international has played 32 times this season and has said that he would not play for another Premier League side after spells with Southampton, the Red Devils and the Merseyside outfit.
Speaking about his ambitions, he told French TV via The Sun, “My favourite clubs in France are Strasbourg, as I am from their local area.
“But when I was young I was always a Marseille fan. If I am to leave Everton I would love to take on a different challenge to the Premier League.
“I have already played for Southampton, Manchester United and Everton, and I can’t see myself going elsewhere in England.”
After the time of things he’s had since joining the club in January 2016, the Toffees in our Tavern aren’t too concerned about potentially seeing him depart.
The Everton fans in the Tavern will be disappointed to hear his comments about wanting a new challenge away from the club, however, a number of the locals will be prepared to let the experienced midfielder depart in the summer.
