Despite a bright start to the season, Everton have now only won one of their past eight matches in the Premier League, which has seen them slump to 11th place in the league.
Amongst those performances were ignominious losses against Brighton and Leicester at home, as the pressure is beginning to mount on manager Marco Silva.
Due to the fact that Everton brought in some big names over the summer, as well as recruiting a new manager, some of their poor performances have been glossed over. But they currently look frail in defence and toothless in attack- a worrying combination for the fans at Goodison Park.
What is crucial is that The Toffees sign new players rapidly, particularly up front, where they have had a chronic lack of a striker, which has cost them dearly. In truth, manager Silva must make one of these additions to save his career at Everton, as the board have not been as sympathetic with his predecessors as they have been with him. In recent years, a poor run like the club are on now would have likely seen the manager lose his job.
After the FA Cup, Everton have three fixtures against Bournemouth at home, Southampton away and Huddersfield away. All three of those clubs are not performing that well at the moment, and Everton could look to pick up nine points there. Then again, given the form of The Toffees, they could easily slip up and lose all three. If so, Silva would surely be gone.
The Portuguese boss will know that he does not have a lot of time to save his career, but he can start by signing a striker as soon as possible.
