Everton have had a decent enough season in the Premier League this year under Ronald Koeman, sitting behind the main top four chasing pack but having relative success of their own.
The Toffees have been what many consider their usual selves in the main, winning some big games but then letting themselves down in matches against opposition they should really be beating – such as Swansea last week.
Our landlord has been having some good in depth conversations with the Everton fans though this week in the Tavern, and the topic of conversation has been firmly centred round summer transfer dealings.
With Koeman expected to spend money once again, one player we think could be an excellent signing for them is Manchester United man Luke Shaw, who is rated at £17m by website Transfermarkt.
The flying England international has had a troublesome season at Old Trafford, losing his place in the team for a large chunk of the campaign before regaining his spot, and getting injured once more.
However, there is 100% a talented player within Shaw, and he is still young enough to carve out a hugely successful career in the Premier League.
A move to Everton as a long term replacement for Leighton Baines could be ideal, with less spotlight on the club and less pressure, allowing Shaw to showcase his talents in full.
It could well be an excellent move which makes sense for all parties involved.
Everton fans, what do you think to this? Would you take Luke Shaw? Let us know in the comments!
