Everton Officially A ‘Big Club’ Going Head-To-Head In The Transfer Market With Real Madrid

Yes you read that correctly.  David Moyes and Jose Mourinho are set to battle it out for the services of Werder Bremen striker Hugo Almeida.

The 26 year old, a long time target of Everton, has recently attracted the attentions of the money men at the Bernabeu.  Following Gonzalo Higuain’s recent injury, Real Madrid have sought to bolster their striking options, with Almeida top of the shopping list.

But where would you go?

The dream of the Spanish capital or the European capital of culture 2008?  The team of the last century or the team who sometimes play like they are in the last century?

Almeida would certainly be welcomed at Goodison, and if he can stick the ball in the net then he would quickly become a hero.  He would get the game time in Merseyside, but arguably Real can offer better prospects, better players and bigger competitions.

The rumours are that his signature is up for grabs for £8 million, and this one is definitely an intriguing one.  I don’t think it’s snowing in the Madrid at the moment either…
