Everton outcast would be the best man to help Hodgson phase out awful Benteke at Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace may be pulling away from the relegation spots following an electric start to the reign of new boss Roy Hodgson, but fans here in The Transfer Tavern remain wary of their side’s Premier League future.

Our landlord caught up with a bunch of the lads from South London during a break in proceedings of an intense pool tournament, with fans keen to let our boss know exactly what they would like to see happen in the current transfer window. A new striker was highlighted as an essential addition to relieve the burden upon Christian Benteke, with many keen to see a swoop for Everton man, Oumar Niasse. The Senegalese has been sensational when afforded an opportunity at Goodison Park this season, notching an impressive five goals in only five Premier League starts. However following the £27 million arrival of Cenk Tosun from Besiktas, it appears Niasse’s stay on Merseyside has come to an end.

Hodgson had been chasing West Ham striker Diafra Sakho, but with the deal looking dead in the water, Niasse could be the perfect alternative for the former England boss. A pacy forward with the ability to find the back of the net, the player impressed during a loan spell with Hull City last season, and is certainly extremely undervalued at Goodison Park. Hodgson would welcome the player with open arms, and should be able to snatch him from Sam Allardyce for a bargain price, and it can be guaranteed that the player will score goals at Selhurst Park. If Hodgson can get this deal over the line, then Palace fans can begin to look forward to extending their stay in the top flight for at least another season.

Palace fans, let us know your thoughts!
