The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern have enjoyed a fantastic summer so far…
The Toffees have spent big already this summer, with huge moves for the likes of Michael Keane and Jordan Pickford serving to really improve Ronald Koeman’s chances ahead of the new season.
However, it doesn’t look like the Blues are set to slow down their spending quite yet, with the Mirror reporting that there is more to come at Goodison Park this summer. It is said that Ronald Koeman wants three more players before the window closes, with Gylfi Sigurdsson mentioned by name – whilst a new defender and a striker are also being eyed by the Dutchman.
Everton have already signed enough players this summer to almost build an entirely new team, but given the fact that they’ve lost a couple of players already this summer, a bit more depth certainly wouldn’t go amiss at Goodison Park.
Clearly, Ronald Koeman has big plans for his team, and the Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are expecting big things next season. Of course, this all comes with a major caveat for Koeman, as he will be expected to produce results given the financial backing he has received – but our landlord is confident that he can do just that.
It’s been a very good summer for Everton, and a couple more signings could make it near perfect.
The signing of Gylfi Sigurdsson, which the Toffees seem desperate to seal, would go down as one of the signings of the summer given that he has been the talisman at Swansea City over the last few years. He’ll become the creative hub of this team, and so it would be a sensational move.
Elsewhere, a move for a striker makes sense, as not even Wayne Rooney can fill the gap left behind by Romelu Lukaku in the Everton attack.
Likewise, Everton have an ageing defence despite a couple of signings, so more depth will go down well.
If Koeman can tie up all these deals, our landlord is backing his side for a top four finish.
