The Everton fans over by the darts board today have demonstrated their disappointment that John Stones looks set to leave their club, but are impressed that their club have already identified Ben Gibson as a replacement, according to The Daily Mirror.
Gibson, nephew of Boro chairman Steve Gibson, has started 30 games in the Championship this term and has produced a series of impressive performances.
The 23-year old is valued at around £4 million and has also attracted the attentions of West Bromwich Albion, although word around the Tavern is that Everton are leading the race for his signature.
The Toffees were also interested in the youngster last summer, but did not fully pursue their interest as they managed to keep hold of Stones.
Our landlord rates the young defender very highly having watched him numerous times this season, and feels he would be a perfect replacement for Mr John Stones.
Everton fans, would you be happy to sell Stones for big money and bring in a cheaper alternative like Gibson? Let us know in the comments below!Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
