Everton will be heading into next season with ambitions of achieving what they had initially hoped to do this season by qualifying for European football, and fans in the Transfer Tavern will be expecting the club to spend big in order to make it happen.
The Toffees spent almost £200million on players last summer, however, they saw their new side struggle throughout and have been fortunate to place inside the top-half after a disastrous start. The Goodison Park outfit are expected to spend again this summer, but whether Sam Allardyce or another manager will have access to the transfer war chest remains to be seen.
Fans have called for the former West Ham United boss to leave after they became frustrated with the performances of their side despite the fact he has saved them from relegation.
However, reports from ESPN are claiming that the Toffees will continue to press on with transfer targets and have identified Anderlecht’s Mahmoud Hassan as a potential recruit. The Egypt international has been impressing in the Turkish Super Liga with Kasimpasa during a loan spell and has been attracting interest from other sides in the Premier League as well.
The 23-year-old has scored 14 goals so far and provided five assists, and he could be available for a bargain price as he approaches the final year of his contract.
The locals in the Tavern will want the Toffees to bring in a man that can add some firepower to the side, as they have struggled to find the back of the net on a consistent basis this season and Hassan could be the man to do it.
Everton will know the Turkish league well, having brought Cenk Tosun in from Besiktas in January, and they will be hoping for some similar success if the Egyptian arrives at Goodison Park.
