Everton plotting surprise £30m bid for this forgotten Arsenal striker

It’s been a good transfer window so far for Arsenal, who have managed to keep hold of their big stars whilst adding pretty well to their current squad too.

Manager Arsene Wenger was under real pressure to improve his side and keep his best players after signing a two-year contract extension earlier this summer. It’s safe to say the new deal split the Gunners fans here in the Tavern but he’s going to be leading them into the new campaign.

The signing of Alexandre Lacazette marks a superb piece of business but as always, when new players come into the mix, it always pushes someone else further down the pecking order.

And one man that could suffer following the Frenchman’s arrival at the Emirates is Danny Welbeck, who hasn’t featured regularly in the Gunners first-team for a long-time now.

Many of the Arsenal fans here in the pub feel that a change would really suit the former Manchester United man and one team that could be interested in making a move are big-spending Everton, if a move falls through for Olivier Giroud.

The Toffees certainly haven’t hung around this window and according to the Mirror, Everton boss Ronald Koeman is still looking to add to his strike force ahead of the opening weekend.

He’s already brought in Wayne Rooney but feels that he needs a striker that can stretch opposition sides and score a hefty amount of goals all-season long.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Blues certainly haven’t hung around this summer when it has come to adding to their squad and you can’t begrudge Ronald Koeman in the slightest.

He’s brought in some cracking players, a mix of youth and experience and now all he’s missing is a goalscorer.

Welbeck needs a new opportunity at this level and this is a move that really makes sense.

Everton fans- a move worth considering? Leave your thoughts down below!
